I’ve been a busy Miss Meaningful and therefore my blogging has been happening more in my head than online. But what I have gained over this ‘busy’ time are many wonderful stories to share with you. So let the stories and more from a meaningful world return…
Escaping to Bali…
The first, of many, is about Bali. I work hard and finally had the chance to realise a dream – to go on a yoga and meditation retreat overseas. I’m in post-retreat-bliss with my heart filled with joy & my mind rejuvenated from the experience.
ONEWORLD Retreats Kumara offer an “Escape the World” experience that re-connects your soul and spirit in an oasis filled with tropical beauty.
Walking into Kumara took my breath away as I stepped into paradise! As part of a former palace, it’s more of a home than a hotel with a spiritual ambiance and energy that fills your soul. The team do all they can to make your stay relaxing and healthy with all the luxury of a 5 star hotel. They are welcoming, kind and generous and there’s always a ‘Suksama’ (thank you ) or ‘sama-sama’ (You’re welcome) to be shared. An eco-friendly focus means it’s also meaningful and they support various local charities to make a difference to the local communities.
The daily 2 hour yoga sessions were challenging for me, considering that I probably only did 2 hours of yoga in the month of February. However having now completed the retreat I am back in love with yoga. It really is a practice where you can see the benefits to your fitness and health immediately. Thanks to our Yoga masters Iyan and Wayan for their support, encouragement and generous sharing.
The food provided is healthy, tasty and freshly prepared. I let go of any concerns and was never unwell. If anything I eat too much but I worked out hard so I deserved to feed my body with their good food! And of course there was much time spent at their Spa….sigh
There is so much more to share but for now I will close this part of my blog with the essence I felt while there. Being a child of the world, I felt that love I have of travel once again and connected with another culture that resonated with my heart. Ubud was like meeting a soul mate. I am so grateful for the opportunity to get away to a paradise and meet some beautiful people along the way.
Next blog…my experience at the WINS Orphanage!
