Meaningful journeys

by | Feb 21, 2012 | Loving Life, Travel

As a travel lover I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing amazing places on my journeys.  From Australia to South America, Africa to Europe and the Middle East to Asia one thing that is truly memorable are the amazing people you meet.  My most happiest moments while traveling is making a connection with another human being.

Children amaze me!  Particularly when you travel in countries where they don’t seem to have a good life yet they are happy.  For example, these children from Malawi.  When I visited several years ago they were all smiles and we had so much fun together.  My cheeks ached from smiling so much! I wish I could bottle up that goodness and happiness and share with the rest of the world.

But instead I’ll share this photograph.  I hope it makes you smile as much as it does for me.

So in honour of these happy children I want to share my excitement about a business doing their part to help children.

Intrepid Travel have joined forces with Plan to create SAMA – a three year global gender equality project which aims to improve the lives of communities, and help bridge the gender gap through education.

May I suggest it’s tea time?  Why don’t you grab a cuppa and relax for a few minutes (because you deserve it) and check out what they are doing through this video.

A meaningful business, doing meaningful work with a meaningful cause.  Beautiful.

Single in the Silly Season

I'm really grateful for my life as it is. I'm single and I'm happy about it. At this time of year, I can do whatever I want - when I want. #singal [I'm creating a new hashtag for us single gals!] I usually find this time of year an effort. I kind of drag myself...

Surrender

Surrender

One of my big lessons over the past few years was to let go of the idea of control. We can only control certain aspects of our lives and how we react to situations. In my learning and development world, we call this the Circle of Concern and Influence. Stephen Covey...
