My top ten meaningful gifts

Let’s make a meaningful difference with our hard-earned cash.

I’ve got a gift list just for you my dear friends. There are so many wonderful, meaningful, gifts that keep on giving – and here are my TOP TEN!

For me, the best gifts are meaningful ones. Whether homemade or an experience, give the gift that makes your loved one feel special.

  1. An experience with YOU. Take your loved one to a movie, a museum, or out to a meal. It’s TIME with YOU.
  2. A homemade gift. Make some art. Paint, draw, collage, design, make candles or dried flower arrangements…the options are endless and the experience is SO MUCH FUN!
  3. Print your favourite photos! Go old-school. This is such a meaningful and personal gift to give. Let’s face it, how many people actually print off photos these days?
  4. A hamper YOU created. Filled with fresh food, herbs and spices specially chosen by you. Package it in a hessian bag or wooden box. Handwrite a recipe too! Yum.
  5. Support Australian produce. Go to your local market and gather local produce. Wrap it up in some left over ribbon or a pretty t-towel and a homemade card.
  6. Make your own chocolates. Buy a fun mould (think hearts, flowers, etc.) and get creative. Not just with good quality chocolate but throw in some salt, chai flavours, edible flowers or nuts. Options are endless. Package in a glass jar wrapped in your favourite ribbon.
  7. Donate to a meaningful charity on behalf of your loved one. Check out StreetSmart as an option!
  8. Create your own gift voucher. Maybe you’ll take your loved one for a pamper day or a visit to the beach?
  9. Write your favourite poem or song and a special message from you. Print it out and find a lovely frame for it to live in. A beautifully thoughtful gift.
  10. Buy pre-loved Books. I think you know how much I love books! Visit a bookshop filled with pre-loved books and find a gem to give to someone special.

How much fun is gift-giving!

Peace and Love

Single in the Silly Season

I'm really grateful for my life as it is. I'm single and I'm happy about it. At this time of year, I can do whatever I want - when I want. #singal [I'm creating a new hashtag for us single gals!] I usually find this time of year an effort. I kind of drag myself...

Surrender

One of my big lessons over the past few years was to let go of the idea of control. We can only control certain aspects of our lives and how we react to situations. In my learning and development world, we call this the Circle of Concern and Influence. Stephen Covey...
