UN World Water Day today!

by | Mar 22, 2012 | Events, Food, Loving Life, Products

Today is a special day for all of us water drinkers!

There are 7 billion people to feed on the planet today and another 2 billion are expected to join by 2050. This means that 70% more food will be needed, up to 100% in developing countries.

There are so many interesting facts to read and consider on the World Water Day website.

This is not just about water conservation in the shower!

The more we are educated on what is really going on, the more power we have to change.  For example, did you know about 30% of the food produced worldwide is never eaten and the water used to produce it is definitively lost!  If we don’t waste food, we can save water!

Designer, Ben Blakebrough from Blakebrough + King, is a supercycler and designed this cool stool with this in mind!

Natural Grain Kite Stool – can be made from any grass or grain you choose.

Cold pressed straw, wheat, rice.

A sustainable, biodegradable, edible chair.

It’s little things that make a meaningful difference.  Share this with your families and let’s create a generation of water savers!

Surrender

Surrender

One of my big lessons over the past few years was to let go of the idea of control. We can only control certain aspects of our lives and how we react to situations. In my learning and development world, we call this the Circle of Concern and Influence. Stephen Covey...
