While visiting Alice Springs…

…I found out about the Red Dust Role Models, an Australian non-profit promoting health improvement and well being to disadvantaged youth in remote communities in Australia and overseas.

They use positive role models from the fields of sport, music, art, health and business to deliver their Lifestyle Education Program.  They teach, they coach, they mentor!  People such as Kyle Vander Kuyp, Allan Border and Melanie Jones are Ambassadors and they have many more role models from all sorts of backgrounds supporting the cause.

Committed to decreasing the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous they focus their work on helping with real issues such as health, education and empowerment. When you see the kind of work they are doing and the people involved you’ll be amazed.

Red Dust Role Models also visit various remote communities and assist teachers, healthcare workers and community leaders to encourage youth to make healthy lifestyle decisions. It’s a positive experience for all and really makes a difference to the whole community.

You could support them by making a donation or perhaps applying to be a Role Model. Red Dust is always looking for passionate people who excel in the fields of sport, art and music and have experience working with youth.  What a meaningful gift that would be!

It is a fantastic opportunity and a lot of fun too!

Red Dust also collaborate on amazing meaningful projects.  In December last year, Vodafone joined forces with Red Dust to provide a sustainable water supply to children in the Daly River community in the Northern Territory, called the Vodafone Water For Life Project.  This community does not have any basic natural water supply at their Woolianna Primary School! Did you know this was happening in Australia?

There are two ways they wish to make a difference:

1. Supplying a water pump and the means for a continuous water supply to Woolianna School

2.Providing a vegetable /bush garden to St Francis (Nauiyu) and Woolianna Primary School (Daly River) to help educate the importance of nutrition and growing their own food

To achieve this, the Vodafone Retail Design & Distribution Team have a fundraising goal of $100,000.  If you are interested in assisting, follow this link HERE.

Red Dust Role Models – a meaningful cause with meaningful people and opportunities for some meaningful experiences!  Ticks all the boxes for me.  For more information visit the Red Dust.
