Hi Gorgeous Miss Meaningful
I would like to comment on the issue of DHA in tanning products. Thank you for thinking of me.
Firstly it excites me that consumers are now starting to look at ingredients we place on our skin! I feel like I have been screaming under water for years to bring awareness.
What makes it all the more confusing is the blatant fake and misleading organic and natural claims out there! We all have seen labels which read made with organic blah blah … however one organic ingredient mixed with synthetics is not an organic product!
So we need to look for products with an certified organic processor number. Eco Tan is certified organic by the Australian organic food chain, under the Australian Governments biodynamics and organic standards. Our certified organic processor number is 0614. Buying a certified organic product is the only real way we can be sure the products contains no Synthetics, GMO’S, pesticides and much more.
Below is an extract of what our chemist say’s about our DHA which is certified as organic by Eco Cert.
Eco Tan’s DHA IS certified organic by a widely used and very popular European association called EcoCert. To comply with this regulatory body, the raw materials and the manufacture process used must comply with strict rules. That is to say, this form of DHA is derived exclusively from renewable, Non Genetically Modified vegetable resources, does not contain pesticides, does not contain any of the 26 allergens substances listed in the European Cosmetic Directive (76/768/EC), is not animal origin and is not in contact with animal products during its manufacture.
It really comes down to nano-particles. Many cosmetics products contain nano-particulars which enter the blood stream, Eco Tan products do not!
The FDA recommends not to breath DHA in and wear eye protection, nose plugs and mask to protect the face. Obviously our lungs are created to breathe in clean oxygen and I think people should be mindful of that.
Thank you, Sarah
