Oscar’s Law will change the way that animals are kept, bred and sold. But your voice is needed to make this change. People need to be aware of where their pets come from.
Oscars Law:
- Abolish the factory farming of companion animals.
- Ban the sale of companion animals from pets shops/online trading sites.
- Promote adoption through rescue groups/pounds/shelters.
I’m an animal lover and have always been effected by any cruelty to animals. I just don’t understand how any human can treat an animal without respect, kindness and love.
Factory farmed dogs get no veterinary intervention when they need respite from their pain and suffering. They live in filth, sometimes without adequate food or water. Their coats are often matted with faeces and stained with urine. Ear infections and ear mite infestations are common as is painful dental and gum disease.
The dogs are deprived of even their basic needs as the current law is only concerned with food shelter and water. The dog’s psychological and social needs are ignored on factory farms.
The puppy buying public are misled at every turn and picture the tiny pup they have just purchased has come from a loving environment — when nothing could be further from the truth.
There are hundreds of puppy factories in Australia confining thousands of dogs right now.

Want to make a difference? Go the Oscars Law website. You can support in many ways including signing their petition and spread the message. Debra mentioned to me that they are focused on creating awareness so purchasing their merchandise really helps.
Miss Meaningful will add Oscars Law to the list of charities we wish to contribute to.
